The pain and suffering that is happening in our community and across the country is immense. If one thing is certain at St. Vincent de Paul Society, it is the deep respect and love we have for human life. Each person’s humanity and need for safety is acknowledged here. This fact is the core of our work everyday. We have always, and will always, denounce racism and lift up, serve and honor all people and the gift of life granted each person on this earth.
We deeply mourn George Floyd’s death and all the lives unjustly taken from us too soon as the result of so many societal failings. In honor of them, we will do what we know best – serve and preserve the lives of as many people as we can through the resources and the love we have to give.
