MARIN, CA – Sept. 30, 2020 – The St. Vincent de Paul Society of Marin (SVdP) welcomes Herb Foedisch as the new President of the Board of Directors beginning Oct. 1, 2020. Foedisch, a resident of Tiburon, has served on the Board since 2008. Herb has led many of our community fundraisers and has spearheaded our facility renovation projects while in his previous roles on the Board as Development Chair and Vice President.
Foedisch stated, “This work is important to me because SVdP brings our community together to help our most vulnerable. Whether volunteering time to prepare meals or to help the people experiencing homelessness secure housing, our supporters make me truly believe we can prevent and end homelessness in Marin. I am excited to continue my advocacy for those who need help and to keep making progress in the fight for housing and food security in our community.”
Executive Director Christine Paquette is grateful for the outstanding leadership of both incoming President Foedisch and outgoing Board President Rich Gallagher. Both Gallagher and Foedisch have been instrumental in supporting SVdP’s 68% growth in revenue in the last five years. Their work has helped increase community collaboration, secure permanent housing for chronically homeless people, and provide food and emergency rental assistance for families and individuals at-risk of becoming homeless in Marin due to the pandemic.
Paquette says, “I am thrilled that Herb is stepping up as our new President. His experience as a wealth management advisor and philanthropic leader, along with his generous heart, will ensure our continued success at helping SVdP feed, house, and care for our county’s most vulnerable residents.”
